October 28 Long weekWow, it has been a rough week or so. I had two cousins pass away, on the same day. It has been very hard on my mom. A niece and a nephew. She has always been extra close to her niece.
As you can imagine, everyone is exhausted. Yesterday before we went to the graveside services my brother and I found out our cousin (Louise) had named us co-executors. I have to find out what all that entails. I hope we are up to the task. Have any of you ever had to serve as an executor? If so, can you kinda give me a little idea what all we or I need to do? I know we have to register the will, set up an estate account, make sure the grandkids receive her requests and at some point we have to see about selling her house and personal property.
Is there a time limit on everything?
I guess we need to make a list of things to be done and put them in order of importance. HELP!!
OK, I have had two more Red Cross classes. Disaster caseworker was one. The other qualified me to teach classes on "Bloodborne Pathogens:Preventing Disease Transmission". I took this class Monday morning, then went to funeral.
I have one more class in Logistics in a couple of weeks. Then that's it for a while.
My plate has been pretty full.
I had one of my latest photos enlarged and framed. I was very pleased with the finished product. Now I want to make an arrangement on my living room wall of my photos.
Today, I had energy from somewhere, I have moved almost every piece of furniture in my bedroom.....my bed is loaded with clothes, etc., etc. I'm ready to crash...but where!!!
Well I guess that is enough to talk about for one night. So off I go to find a small space to sleep tonight. Then try and finish my room tomorrow. If I'm able to move tomorrow. lol Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
Take care all......Have a great rest of the week.
Oh, oh, oh, I almost forgot we had snow today...woo whoo. I had to share that. The leaves aren't even at their peak fall colors and we had snow. It was kinda cool. Nice but pretty cold. We don't usually have this kind of weather til at least December.
OK now I'm going. Night all

October 21 "Boo" it's meIt has been ages since I last made and entry. I have missed reading and posting. Just had way too much goin' on this summer and fall.
My bum knee is still bum, which hasn't had me in the best of moods. Too young for knee replacement, don't want another surgery, the only thing left is to live with it till I can't. A real Bummer!
I have been a volunteer with the Red Cross for a few years. Back when Gustav hit the gulf, some 300+ people were evacuated here. I worked logistics for the time they were here in Kingsport. I meet some really nice people during that time. Since then I have been getting a few red cross courses in. Had one class last week. And I have a two day class this week in casework. Next week I have a class and another the week after that. For now I will only be doing local fires, disasters, etc. At some point, I hope to go on large scale disasters.
Oh I passed my test, a few weeks ago, to teach Red Cross CPR/FA/AED classes. I'll start doing those sometime this winter problably.
Plus, we had a yard sale in the middle of everything. J and I worked our butts off and paid for it. I'm still dragging. J is painting the hall and woodwork, moving furniture, etc.
Went out this past weekend to see the fall colors, but, not they weren't ready. Think we'll give it another try tomorrow or Sat.
Well I'm pretty tired tonight, so I'll call it a night. I'll try to catch up on blogs another day.
I hope everyone has been doing well.
Take care all, be back soon.

June 23 Cheap Joe'sHi you all... I have been away for awhile. Life stuff distracted me. I have been popping in ever now and then just to check on everyone. Just not in a writing mood.
Saturday, June 21, I went to Boone, NC. to the "Cheap Joe's Trade Show". I don't know if anyone is aware of the show. It is put on every year in June by Cheap Joe's Art Stuff. Thursday, Friday and Saturday there are art demos and workshops. Saturday is the only day of the trade show. There are reps of major art supply companies there. They drop the price on supplies anywhere from 25 to 75% off products. I bought a few things. A few art books, wc paper, pastel paper, some pastels, and a small workstation. I don't remember how many booths, I think about 45 but not sure.
It's like a 2 hr. drive but to me it is well worth it. Several artists did demos during the show. I loved it. It is like a high to be around art and other artists. If you would like to visit the website to view the store or see what the trade show was like, here is the site..... www.cheapjoes.com.
It puts me in a creative mood. I hope everyone had a good weekend and the week ahead goes great.
Take care all...see ya back here soon. xoxo

Pat April 27 6 Quirks
6 Quirks about yours truly......hummmmmmmmm The rules for the tag are as follows: Link the person who tagged you Mention the rules in your blog Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them Leave a comment on each of the tagged bloggers blogs letting them know they've been tagged.
Jan tagged me...This is a hard one. I know I have them, lots I'm sure. I'm having a hard time getting started here. But I'll give it a go.
#1 quirk: I can't stand it when someone reads the newspaper before me and leaves it out of order and in pieces. I have to take the time to put it back together before I can start to read it.... #2 quirk: Most people think I am a fairly social person....but I'm not really. I would much rather be at home, away from almost everyone. #3 quirk: I absolutely hate it when people drop by without calling first. It is kinda funny 'cause, I usually let the answering machine catch the call. I'll pick up if I feel like talking. If they show up I may or may not answer the door. I don't have a problem with that. #4 quirk: If I go out to a friends or someplace and I see a picture is crooked. It drives me crazy if someone doesn't straighten it. If noone does, I will. I have to...it's my quirk-a-tive. #5 quirk: I have to watch TV in bed to wind down. That doesn't seem quirky. I watch shows like: Forensic Files, 48 Hours: Hard Evidence, Impact: Stories of Survival or something like those. No it doesn't give me bad dreams. I think this one is probably pretty quirky. lol I like to put the Food Channel on mostly. Now that keeps me awake. go figure. #6 quirk: I have a had a couple of accidents, bad experiences.....I won't wear articles of clothing I was wearing when they happened. I know the clothes didn't have anything to do with what occurred....it's a quirky thingy.
Woo Hoo....I did it. Can't believe I did it. Man that's hard. Ok, I'm suppose to Tag someone now, right. If you are reading this and haven't been Tagged......you've been tagged. Have fun..hahaha..I know how much fun I had....lol Good luck. =============================================
